The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of a 46-year-old man, identified as Prince Gwashure, in connection with the murd3r of Manfred Mujuru, 44, which occurred on July 6 2024, in Unit C , Chitungwiza.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when Gwashure and Mujuru got into a heated argument over a cigarette.
The dispute quickly escalated, and Gwashure allegedly ass@ulted Mujuru with clenched fists and feet, inflicting severe inj_ries.
The victim was left lying on the ground, sustaining a swollen hand and other !njuries. Despite his condition, Gwashure failed to stop and render assistance to Mujuru, instead fleeing the scene.
Mujuru was later taken to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on July 9, 2024.
The ZRP launched an investigation into the incident and managed to track down Gwashure and apprehend him. The suspect is currently in police custody, facing charges of m_rder.
The family of Manfred Mujuru is still reeling from the loss of their loved one.
