Police in Gokwe have arrested Deline Kademaunga, a local resident and charged her with the murd3r of her newborn baby boy.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on July 5 2024, at Kademaunga Village in Gokwe South.
It is alleged that Deline gave birth to a baby boy but failed to seek medical attention for her child.
Instead, she reportedly abandoned the baby and hid his b0dy inside the trunk of a baobab tree.
The gruesome discovery was made by villagers who stumbled upon the b0dy while searching for firewood in the area.
The police were immediately notified, and an investigation was launched into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s de@th.
After a thorough investigation, police identified Deline as the prime suspect and arrested her on suspicion of infanticide.
She has since been charged with the crime and is currently being held at Gokwe Police Station.
The motive behind Deline’s actions remains unclear, but police say they are working to gather more information and piece together the events leading up to the baby’s d3ath.
