In a dramatic incident that unfolded in Harare and captured on video, a Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) traffic officer found himself clinging to the door of a moving vehicle, desperately trying to bring a reckless driver to a halt.
The viral video shows the officer desperately holding on as the driver speeds off.
The dramatic scene, which quickly went viral on social media, showcases the dangerous cat-and-mouse game between law enforcement and a defiant mushika shika driver.
The video begins with a tense standoff.

The driver, operating an illegal pirate taxi, is seen vehemently arguing with the traffic officer.
The officer repeatedly demands that the driver open his car door, their voice growing louder and more insistent with each refusal.
The driver, maintaining a façade of compliance, responds with a stubborn, “For what?” each time the officer press their demand.
As the confrontation escalates, the driver appears to relent, maneuvering his vehicle to the side of the road.
He asks the officer to step aside, seemingly ready to cooperate. However, this moment of apparent compliance is swiftly shattered.
With a sudden and shocking move, the driver slams his foot on the accelerator, the car lurching forward at high speed.
The officer, caught off guard, are left with no choice but to cling to the car door, their lives hanging in the balance.
From the perspective of a terrified passenger, the video captures the officer’ desperate struggle.
The offficer is seen gripping the door, his body pressed against the speeding vehicle, the wind whipping past him.
His voice, filled with a mix of fear and authority, can be heard over the roar of the engine, warning the driver of the perilous situation: “This is dangerous!” But the driver’s response is chillingly indifferent, a curt, “So what?” echoing through the chaos.
The video cuts away, as the officer left with no choice and with a little push from the conductor, jumps off the moving vehicle.
