A dramatic scene unfolded in the parliament when Speaker Speaker of Zimbabwe’s National Assembly, Mr Jacob Mudenda instructed a ZANU-PF Member of Parliament, Elizabeth Masuku, to remove her scarf during a parliamentary session.
The incident was captured on video, showing Masuku wearing the scarf and another MP, seemingly upset by the attire, questioning whether the dress code policy had changed.
The speaker then intervened, ordering Masuku to remove the scarf, stating that he had made the rule three years ago.
Masuku protested, saying that the scarf was not a party regalia and should not be an issue. However, Speaker Mudenda remained firm, insisting that the rule be followed.
The video has gone viral on social media, with many people commenting on the matter.
Some have praised Speaker Mudenda for maintaining order in parliament.
