The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of the four v!ctims who lost their lives in a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on July 15, 2024, at around 4:00 pm at the 3-kilometer peg along Hamutyinel Road in Gweru.
The deceased individuals were identified by their next of kin as:
Trust Mudzengi (54), a male adult
Dewa Nhlahla (27), a male adult
Susan Mashiri (54), a female adult from Mkoba 18, Gweru
Rapha Chiongo (30), a male adult from Mkoba 18, Gweru
The ZRP is urging motorists to exercise caution and avoid reckless behavior on the country’s roads. In particular, the police are warning against overspeeding and overloading of vehicles, which can lead to devastating consequences.
Above all, public service vehicle operators are being urged to observe all road rules and regulations to ensure the safety of their passengers and other road users.
The ZRP is committed to reducing the number of road accidents on Zimbabwe’s roads and is working tirelessly to ensure that all road users adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
The police are also appealing to the public to report any suspicious or reckless driving behavior to the nearest police station or call the emergency number.
