The High Court of South Africa: Gauteng Division, Johannesburg, has found Simon Mahuse, 28, and his co-accused Frans Ntshumayelo, 29, guilty of several charges, including two counts of m_rder, three counts of attempted m_rder, four counts of r0bbery with aggravating circumstances, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Following a tip from community members, members of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) detained the accused. The EMPD was directed to an address in Phumula by the tip.
When the police arrived at the address, they learned more about the family’s r0bbery spree and discovered several suspicious goods. The police phoned for backup in anticipation of the group’s return.
Later in the evening, four suspects approached the house and were met by the police, resulting in a gunfight.One suspect escaped, while another was fatally injured. The remaining two suspects were captured.

The guilty conviction came after a thorough investigation by the police, who discovered that the accused were responsible for the de@ths of Koketso Mojatau, an EFF councillor in the City of Ekurhuleni, and Siboniso Sokhele in April 2023. They were convicted of a number of vi0lent acts perpetrated between January and April 2023.
The evidence presented in court demonstrated that the accused targeted unsuspecting victims and used firearms to r0b and g_un them. The court heard how the accused approached their victims at g_npoint and st0le their automobiles, cellphones, and other personal goods.
One complainant fought back, firing multiple shots at the accused, but was fatally w0unded and r0bbed of her pistol. On April 23, police discovered Mojatau’s st0len vehicles, g_ns, and other personal belongings and detained the suspects following a sh00tout.
