Prolific father Themba Mliswa, known for his candid opinions and unconventional lifestyle, recently stirred up a conversation about the institution of marriage.
Speaking on the popular Ollah 7 Podcast Show, the 52-year-old father of 20 declared that marriage is overrated, sparking a debate among listeners.
Mliswa, a figure often in the spotlight for his outspoken views, delved into his reasoning behind this bold statement. “I say marriage is overrated because I see all the problems,” he began.
“I see the divorces, the struggles within marriages, and how pastors have shifted from preaching to becoming marriage counselors. It’s worse now. Our mothers were different; they endured and navigated the complexities of marriage differently.”

He further elaborated on a belief he holds dearly, which he claims influences his perspective on relationships.
“There is a great saying which I want to share with you,” he continued. “Every woman wants to marry a man who resembles her father. A model to the girl child is her father. When my daughters grow up, they see me, observe my behavior, and will likely seek out a man like me. So, have I been able to live up to that model?”
Mliswa’s views on marriage are not just theoretical.
His personal life, often shared publicly, reflects his unconventional approach.
He has previously revealed that he exclusively dates “M1s” and “M2s,” slang terms for single mothers.
This preference, he says, is rooted in his respect for women who have had to navigate the challenges of parenthood on their own.
Throughout the interview, Mliswa did not shy away from sharing the intricacies of his life choices despite fathering 20 children with more than 10 women.
