Police in Rutenga have arrested a 20 year-old woman named Priviledge Moyo in connection with an infanticide case.
This distressing event occurred on July 15 2024, at Village 9, Limbigia, where it is alleged that Moyo gave birth to a baby boy and subsequently disposed of the newborn in a blair toilet.
The lifeles$ body of the infant was discovered nine days later, on July 24 2024, when community members observed signs suggesting something was amiss with the toilet facility.
The authorities were alerted, and upon retrieval, the remains were sent to Mwenezi District Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of d3ath and further clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
In a related and equally concerning series of events, local law enforcement reported the discovery of two separate human fetuses in different areas of Zimbabwe on July 25, 2024. The first was located under ZESA pylons in Kuwadzana 7, Harare, while the second was found in a black plastic bag at a dumping site in Unit L, Seke, Chitungwiza around 10:00 AM.
