Former Member of Parliament for Norton Constituency, Temba Mliswa has expressed his gratitude by sending his congratulatory message to Zimbabwe senior men’s rugby team (Sables) after they won Rugby Africa Cup trophy against Algeria.
The Sables produced a stellar performance and thrash Algeria 29-3 in the final.
The match was played at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.
“On behalf of Mashonaland West Rugby I would like to congratulate the Sables on their epic Rugby Africa Cup win against Algeria. To the coaching team and players well done for the win. Credit to you for the win against all odds from poor administration to the preparations,” Temba Mliswa wrote.
The 2024 Rugby Africa Cup trophy become Zimbabwe’s second Rugby Africa Cup trophy in the cabinet since 2012 when the won the first one.
Additionally, the Temba Mliswa hailed the Sables for their winning spirit during the tournament and said they should target the World Cup.
“You have shown a great spirit. The next target is the World Cup as it should be our standard,” he said.
