The South African Department of Home Affairs has uncovered Prima Facie evidence suggesting possible fraud and identity th3ft involving Chidimma Adetshina’s mother.
This discovery follows an investigation initiated at the request of the Miss South Africa pageant organizers, who sought clarity on Adetshina’s eligibility for the competition.
Last week, in response to public concerns about Adetshina’s citizenship, Sports, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie addressed the matter.
McKenzie defended the scrutiny faced by Adetshina, emphasizing that the Miss South Africa title carries significant national representation.

In an interview with the SABC in Freedom Park, McKenzie asserted that it is crucial for the Miss South Africa contestant to be a South African citizen.
He stressed that Miss South Africa serves as an ambassador for the country on the global stage, and thus, any doubts regarding her citizenship need to be resolved transparently.
McKenzie stated, “People have a right to question whether Adetshina is eligible. As a leader, it is my duty to ensure that if she is indeed South African, we support her; but if she is not, she cannot represent our country internationally. This is a matter of national importance, and it must be addressed openly.”
