A Nigerian man is making headlines after allegedly proposing to a woman in the UK just days after getting married in the United States.
The story was shared by Nigerian social media user @omowunmiBalo on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to the post, the man married a woman in the US, reportedly to secure his green card. Shortly after obtaining his green card, he claimed he was traveling to the UK for soccer but instead used the trip to propose to another woman.
The man’s identity has not been disclosed by @omowunmiBalo, who expressed outrage and disbelief. She posted:

“Okunrin ya werey gan o what’s the story I’m hearing for Christ sake! How are you legally married to a woman in the USA who helped you get papers, and just two weeks later, after getting your green card, you lie about going to the UK for soccer but end up proposing to another woman? WTF!”
The revelation sparked reactions from netizens. @AdaErema commented:
