His Excellency, President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, has officially assumed the role of Chairman of SADC’s regional board. He took over the role from the outgoing Chairperson, His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, the President of the Republic of Angola.
The Permanent Sectretary of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has confirmed the development on his X page by highlighting the following.
“On behalf of the people and Government of Zimbabwe, I take over the mantle of Chairperson of SADC, with humility and grace. I look forward, Your Excellencies, to your invaluable support, and drawing from your vast experiences and counsel, as we advance our regional agenda for the benefit of our SADC citizens.” President Mnangagwa said
