Jennifer Lopez has reportedly filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, marking the end of their highly publicised romance.
Despite feeling “disappointed and sad”, Lopez allegedly recognizes it’s time to move forward.
The couple’s relationship has been a long and winding road, with an initial engagement in the early 2000s, a reconciliation in 2021, and two weddings in 2022.
However, the relationship has now come to a close, with Lopez seeking control of the process by filing for divorce on the two-year anniversary of their second wedding.
According to sources, the priority remains their blended family, including Lopez’s twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony and Affleck’s children with Jennifer Garner.
Lopez had previously expressed her joy and inspiration from the relationship, even creating an album and film about their love story.
“It was inspired by the surreal miracle that had happened. Him coming back into my life and the two of us reuniting in a way that we never expected that was the inspiration for even going in the studio.
“The album just poured out of me. It was just something organic and beautiful, but it was definitely inspired by getting this incredible second chance at real, true love.”
