A teacher from Chikwanda High School, Kinston Madzimure, has been sentenced to three years in prison for engaging in a s3xual relationship with a form two student.
The Gutu magistrate, Edwin Marecha, convicted the 33-year-old teacher of having sex_al !ntercourse with the 15-year-old girl, who was already caught in a web of r0mantic entanglements with two boyfriends, including Madzimure, who is nearly twice her age.
The illicit relationship began in July when Madzimure invited the minor to his home and professed his love, initiating a troubling dynamic that mirrored that of a married couple.
The girl subsequently ran away from home during a dispute with her grandmother and sought refuge at the teacher’s residence, where they engaged in s3xual conduct over several days.
Their clandestine affair came to light on August 6, following a police report and a search that uncovered the girl hiding under Madzimure’s bed.
The situation escalated further when a confrontation occurred at Hunduza Business Centre, where a young boy accused Madzimure of having an inappropriate relationship with his girlfriend, igniting public outrage.
In court, Madzimure’s actions were described as a gross violation of trust, leading Magistrate Marecha to issue a stern warning against such misconduct.
Ultimately, Madzimure received a three-year sentence, with one year suspended, reflecting the court’s serious stance on s3xual offenses against minors.
