The National Bl00d Service Zimbabwe (NBSZ) has put to rest concerns regarding bl00d supply by confirming that it currently maintains a robust reserve of bl00d stocks, equating to a minimum of five days’ worth of usable units.
NBSZ chief executive Ms. Lucy Marowa highlighted that there are at least 1,500 usable units available, along with an additional 2,000 units of untested bl00d undergoing processing.
She emphasised the organization’s commitment to ensuring adequate bl00d supplies, which is measured in days of coverage, insisting that their current reserves surpass the ideal threshold of five days.
This assurance extends to hospitals across the country, with Ms. Marowa reassuring the public that there is no necessity for Zimbabweans to seek bl00d from neighboring nations, as the NBSZ efficiently supplies all hospitals from its five strategically located branches in Harare, Mutare, Masvingo, Bulawayo, and Gweru.
