On August 26 2024, today , President Emmerson Mnangagwa is anticipated to officially launch the #Not In My Village national campaign during the World Population Day commemorations at Nzvimbo Growth Point in Chiweshe, Mashonaland Central Province.
This initiative aims to address pressing social issues facing communities across Zimbabwe, including gender-based viol3nce, child marriage, and inadequate access to health services.
The #Not In My Village campaign is designed to empower local communities to take a stand against practices that hinder development and vi0late human rights.
By mobilizing community leaders, youth, and women’s groups, the campaign seeks to foster a culture of accountability and advocacy, encouraging individuals to speak out and reject harmful practices within their own villages.
During the event, President Mnangagwa is expected to emphasize the importance of collective action and community engagement in combating these widespread issues.
The commemorations will also provide a platform for various stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations, civil society, and local government officials, to showcase their commitments and strategies for supporting the campaign’s objectives.
