A family from Murehwa has taken their 80-year-old father to court, accusing him of w!tchcraft and causing m!scarriages among his daughters and daughters-in-law.
The father, known as Didza, was taken to a traditional healer in Mabelreign for a whole night. There, he was given a mysterious liquid that made him soil himself.
Didza went to the Harare Civil Court asking for protection from his children: Alex, Kudzanai, and Tambudzai. He claimed they accused him of w!tchcraft, saying he was responsible for family d3aths and miscarriages.
Didza alleged that his children consulted a traditional healer, who called him a w!tch.
Didza explained that Tambudzai had taken him to the healer, who claimed Didza was a w!tch. He said the healer dru_gged him and made cuts on his head and knee.

Didza also claimed that the healer said he was behind family d3aths and miscarriages.
“I was drugged and woke up wearing a diaper. I saw that the healer had cut my head and knee. They say I am responsible for the deaths in the family and that I drink the blood of the d3ad,” Didza said.
Didza denied the accusations, saying it was his late older brother who was involved in w!tchcraft, not him. He claimed his children were trying to get money from him and were seeking revenge.
Alex said that a traditional healer had confirmed their suspicions about their father. Kudzanai and Tambudzai said that their father had admitted to past w!tchcraft and that he was behind the d3aths of 14 brothers and multiple miscarriages.
“The traditional healer said he was involved in w!tchcraft, which is causing the sudden d3aths.
Every year, a family member d!es between the ages of 60 and 70. There have been more than six m!scarriages among daughters-in-law,” they said.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom granted Didza a protection order. She ordered the children to stop harassing their father and warned them against using traditional healers to solve family disputes.
