A 56-year-old Islamic cleric named Alfa Nafiu Yahaya is asking for help to care for his wife and their 11 newborn babies.
Yahaya and his 54-year-old wife, Alake Latoyosi, from Nigeria had the babies recently in Benin Republic.
The babies included eight boys and three girls, but two of the girls died shortly after birth.
The babies were born in two separate groups.
The first group was born on July 7, 2024, and the second group on August 14.
Yahaya explained that after the first group of babies was born, his wife felt unusual movements in her belly.
A scan at the hospital showed that she was pregnant with more babies, leading to the birth of the second group.

Yahaya, who works with the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) in Cotonou, Benin Republic, said that the remaining nine babies are healthy.
He also mentioned that the pregnancy lasted over three years and that doctors had trouble detecting it due to what he believes were spiritual factors.
Before the decuplets, Yahaya already had several children, and his wife had children from a previous marriage.
They are now struggling financially and need help with medical bills, bringing the babies to Ilorin, and covering marriage rites and police reports.
Alhaji Abdulmumini Abdulmalik, the National President of IEDPU, confirmed Yahaya’s background and noted that this is a rare event, similar to a historical case from a century ago.
He is asking the government and generous individuals to support Yahaya financially and materially. If you want to help, you can contact Yahaya at 08034261774.
