Recently, a cross-border transport operator from Bulawayo, Thembani Nkomo, found himself in the spotlight when his relationships with several women were exposed online just before his wedding.
Thembani, known as umalayitsha, was set to marry Lindiwe Ndlovu, who lives in Ireland and also goes by the name Linda Sikwili.
The wedding took place in Bulawayo two weeks ago.
Thembani’s other girlfriends in Zimbabwe and South Africa were shocked and heartbroken by the news of his upcoming marriage and the end of their relationships.
Thembani, whose name means “trust,” had betrayed the very essence of his name by cheating on multiple women.
The social media reveal included names and phone numbers of his partners, some of whom were married, and warned others that Thembani was just after their money.

Even Lindiwe, his new wife, was warned that Thembani might be interested in her for her money, not for love. The warnings claimed she had paid for her own lobola and financed their extravagant wedding.
The revelations caused a stir, with many of Thembani’s ex-girlfriends joining a WhatsApp group to share their stories and support each other. Some women claimed they had bought him expensive gifts, like a car, or helped him with his house construction in Pumula South. Others said they had lent him money, which he never paid back.
The women were struggling to come to terms with Thembani’s betrayal and sudden departure from their lives. Their emotions ranged from anger to sadness and disbelief. One woman posted about buying a car for him, reflecting her heartbreak and regret.
When contacted, Thembani didn’t deny the accusations but claimed they came from someone bitter about his moving on. He said everyone has a past and dismissed the claims as coming from angry exes.
Thembani and Lindiwe later visited B-Metro to give their side of the story but refused to answer questions when they learned the story would be published. Thembani insisted that the scandal wouldn’t affect his marriage, and Lindiwe supported him, saying nothing would break them apart. They left the newsroom hand in hand, showing their commitment to each other.
