‘We are tired of s3x workers’ – Bulawayo residents reveal

People living in Bulawayo’s central business district (CBD) are unhappy about the disruptive behavior of s3x workers in their area.

Residents, especially those on Fort Street, Second Avenue, and Masotsha Ndlovu Avenue, have complained that the s3x workers are causing problems.

They say their attempts to get help from the police have not worked.

Albert Nyoni, a local resident, explained that their safety and comfort are compromised because the s3x workers are invading private properties and misusing the area.

“They are setting fires in our yards, stepping on and damaging our flowers, and littering with used condoms. Our children are now used to seeing women roaming around nak3d,” Nyoni said.

Nyoni added that when he reported the issue to the police, the s3x workers responded with threats and insults.

“The police rarely patrol our area, which lets the problem continue. Some s3x workers even hang their clothes on our property without permission,” another resident said.

Ward 1 councillor Josiah Mutangi confirmed the increase in prost!tution and harassment. He noted that the lack of street lights might be contributing to the problem and is pushing for better lighting and police action.

Mutangi also mentioned that he has seen some of the problematic behavior firsthand and suggested that increasing support and job opportunities for s3x workers might help address the issue.

“We are trying to help them by providing support for projects that can provide a stable income,” Mutangi said, recognizing that many s3x workers have families and personal challenges.
