Additionally, unregistered vehicles are used by rogue motorists, including illegal transport operators known as “pirate taxis” or “mushikashika,” who blatantly disregard established road rules and operational regulations.
To address these issues, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has intensified enforcement measures aimed at identifying and impounding any vehicles found operating without proper registration plates.
Under the new enforcement policy, any vehicle discovered lacking these essential identifiers will be impounded and will only be released once it is properly outfitted with the requisite number plates.
This directive is inclusive of vehicles that may have been imported and are currently operating with temporary plates, underscoring the Police’s commitment to uphold the law without exceptions.
