In a tragic incident in Bindura, a 20-year-old man named Tinotenda Willium took his own life by consuming rat poison after his wife, Esmath Chigariro, 25, decided to leave him due to his infidelity.
The couple had a heated argument on September 17, during which Esmath expressed her frustrations and threatened to end the marriage if Tinotenda’s ch3ating continued.
In a desperate plea, Tinotenda responded by stating that he would commit s_icide if his wife chose to leave him, displaying a deep emotional turmoil that he struggled to manage.
Unfortunately, after a few hours, Esmath followed through on her decision to walk away from the relationship, which led to Tinotenda’s tragic choice to end his life.
Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the devastating outcome of the situation, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and support.
The police issued a warning, urging individuals facing relationship issues to seek amicable solutions rather than resorting to self-harm or su!cide.
