A harrowing incident of gang rape and robbery has transpired in Harare, leaving a 29-year-old s3x worker deeply traumatised after being vi0lently assa_lted and robbed of her possessions.
The events unfolded on the evening of September 4th when the victim, known for providing nighttime s3xual services, agreed to meet Edmore Manyange at City Sports Bar for a price of US$30.
After leaving the bar around 10 PM with the intention of heading to her home in Glen Norah, the situation took a horrific turn when Manyange’s two accomplices offered to give them a ride in their truck.
As they neared the Kopje area, the truck came to a sudden stop, and one of the men brandished a knife, threatening the victim’s life if she resisted.
In a brutal act, the three men took turns raping her before driving to a nearby service station, where they further degraded her by forcing her into another vehicle.
They robbed her of her belongings, including US$60 in cash and a cell phone valued at US$120, before abandoning her on Rotten Row Road.
Fortunately, she was later discovered by security guards who assisted her in reporting the crime to the police, leading to the arrest of one suspect, Tinotenda Siringwani, while the search for the other two men continues, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced protections for vulnerable s3x workers in Zimbabwe.
