Mother of girls shares pressure she endured from family to produce a son

Feet of new born Baby in Hands of parents

In a stunning and heartwarming development, Matthew Bwazo, who was kidn@pped as a baby three decades ago, has finally found his way back to his family.

This story of resilience and hope has captivated the community of Masvingo and beyond, transforming years of heartbre@k into a long-awaited reunion.

Matthew was born on May 19, 1994, to parents Sarah Zhou and Clever Bwazo.

Just two weeks later, their world was turned upside down when their newborn son mysteriously disappeared.

The anguish of losing a child is unimaginable, and for Sarah and Clever, each passing year was marked by unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss.

They circulated posters, sought help from authorities, and prayed for any hint of their son’s whereabouts, but their efforts proved fruitless as time went on.

Meanwhile, Matthew was renamed Tinashe James Ncube by his abductor, Simangaliso Rufu.

Growing up in an unfamiliar environment, Tinashe was raised without any knowledge of his true origins. Despite the loving home his captor provided, he always felt a lingering sense of something missing in his life—a void that he could not fully explain but sensed deeply.

For years, the community of Masvingo remained unaware of the secret that had unraveled so many lives. Many were shocked when the truth finally emerged. Simangaliso, it turned out, had pretended that Matthew was her own child, claiming him as a gift from God. As the years passed, she maintained her story, managing to evade suspicion while continuing with her life.

The turning point in this heart-wrenching saga came when Matthew’s parents received a tip from a Mwazha church prophet. The prophet claimed that their long-lost son was likely living in Kadoma. Fueled by renewed hope, Sarah and Clever pursued the lead, and DNA testing was conducted to ascertain the truth of the situation.

The results were nothing short of astonishing: Matthew Bwazo was indeed alive and was, in fact, Tinashe James Ncube. The joy of this revelation was quickly mixed with a heavy dose of disbelief; after such an unfathomable passage of years, the possibility of reuniting with their son was finally a reality.

Simangaliso was arrested following the confirmation of Matthew’s biological identity. However, the case took another unexpected turn when she opted for an out-of-court settlement, sparking discussions on justice and closure for families like the Bwazos.

Now married with four children and working as a truck driver, Matthew’s return can be seen as the culmination of a long chapter filled with anguish and uncertainty. He has embraced his newfound relationship with his biological family, forging bonds that had been lost for a generation.

The joy and relief experienced by Sarah and Clever are palpable; a once-fractured family is now whole again.
