HARARE – Outspoken rapper Holy Ten has hit out at controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo, accusing him of inserting himself into people’s affairs after he donated a top-of-the-range vehicle to the late Oliver Mtukudzi’s widow, Daisy Mtukudzi.
Daisy has been under scrutiny in the last few days after her step-daughters, Selmor and Sandra brought to light the abuse they alleged they suffered while under her care.
The allegations of abuse saw sentiment turn against the woman who inherited all of Mtukudzi’s wealth upon his death.
On Tuesday, Wicknell announced that he was gifting a new Toyota Fortuner 2.4D to Daisy in recognition of her late husband’s contributions to the music industry.
In response, Holy Ten accused the controversial businessman of trying to steer the fortunes of the Mtukudzi family using money. He also accused the businessman of trying to do the same with Chimurenga music legend Thomas Mapfumo.
“Apa Hapana zvawaita. Wangu get out of people’s lives. . Nezuro waitsvaga Mukanya nhasi wakupindira nyaya dzekwa Mtukudzi. These are actual families that you think you can just change direction yavo using money. Cooler down Wicknell wakundisvota honestly,” Holy Ten wrote.
In giving Daisy the gift, Wicknell had alluded to the fact that she was Mtukudzi’s only recognised wife. Tuku was married to Melody Murape, Selmor and Sandra’s mother, before her union with Daisy.
“As I continue to celebrate his Excellency PRESIDENT E.D Mnangagwa’s birthday i decided to recognize the IMMENSE contribution by Dr. OLIVER “TUKU” MTUKUDZI to the music fraternity and socio-political landscape in Zimbabwe.
“On that note I say a big CONGRATULATIONS to MRS DAISY MUTUKUDZI , the one and only official wife of the late great legend, whom I was introduced to prior to TUKU’s sad demise,” he wrote.
