The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that a tragic road traffic accident occurred on October 3, 2024, at approximately 10:00 AM.
The incident took place at the 61-kilometre peg along the Chivhu-Ray Road. In this unfortunate collision, three individuals lost their lives, while eight others sustained inj_ries.
The accident involved two vehicles: a Toyota Wish, which was carrying eight passengers, and an Isuzu DMax, with two passengers on board.
During the impact of the head-on collision, the Isuzu DMax was violently pushed off the road, causing it to overturn before coming to rest on its wheels.
Emergency response teams arrived promptly at the scene to provide assistance to the inj_red and to secure the area.
The deceased were carefully handled and transported to Gutu Mission Hospital mortuary, where autopsies are set to be conducted.
Meanwhile, the inj_red victims were admitted to the same hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment for their inj_ries.
