CATHOLIC priest Father Chalwe Chonde has urged Catholics to never mind those who laugh at them thinking that they worship idols.
In his homily yesterday, Fr Chonde taught on the importance of reciting the rosary which he said could bring about miracles such as marriage for women who feel like they are late for marriage.
“Don’t mind those who laugh at us, there’s power in the rosary. Even those who have taken long to get married will get married, you can get a man through reciting the rosary. Let us use the rosary to get marriage partners,” he preached in Bemba.
He added that reciting of the rosary is important according to the doctrine of the Catholic Church as it brings out the summary of the New Testament.
“There’s power in the recitation of the rosary and miracles do happen. It started with the apostles themselves. What we recite in the rosary is the life of Jesus and Mary, from incarnation to coronation of the blessed Virgin Mary,” noted Fr Chonde.
The priest also took time to encourage Christians to concentrate on the blessings of God and urged those who have gone astray to go back to the love of God.
He also stated that every Christian must be able to offer a service to those in need.
“Sometimes as Christians we behave like we are bewitched, sometimes our parents can pay school fees for us but we are missing class, who has bewitched you? Sometimes you have a big salary but you are failing to build a house, you just want to rent. Who has bewitched you?” wondered the priest.
“Sometimes you are blessed with a good man but you are always nagging, who has bewitched you? Let us take advantage of what God has given us. God gives you children but you are busy shouting at them.
Let us take advantage of doing what’s correct. Let us be justified by faith. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Whenever we go away from God, we sin. We need to go back to the love of God. Away from God you become evil.”
