Former President Barack Obama has urged Americans to vote for Kamala Harris, predicting a “tight” White House campaign between her and Donald Trump with less than a month to go.
At Thursday’s campaign rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he urged the audience to “put down your phone…grab your friends and family and vote” for the current Democratic vice-president in the US election on November 5. Obama also criticised Republican competitor Donald Trump on a variety of subjects, including the economy and ab0rtion.
Meanwhile, Trump was campaigning in Detroit, Michigan, another battleground state, accusing the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris government of “destroying our country”.
Speaking at the University of Pittsburgh, Obama stated, “This election is going to be close because there are many Americans who are still struggling out there.”
“It is not only about the policies on the ballot. “It’s about values,” he explained. He accused Trump of being a self-centered politician who was only concerned with “his ego, his money, and his status”.
“He’s not thinking about you,” he continued, accusing Trump of “trying to tear down” the Affordable Care Act, which millions of Americans rely on.
The 44th President of the United States and his wife, Michelle Obama, formally endorsed Harris in July, shortly after Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.
