A shocking case of infidelity and deception has unfolded in Lusaka, Zambia, involving a 77-year-old landlord, Kaluba Friday, and his former tenant, Luckson Mwanza. Mwanza accused Kaluba of having an affair with his wife while he was away for work.
The accusation led to a defamation lawsuit filed by Kaluba against Mwanza. The dramatic events began when Mwanza received a tip from a neighbor that his wife was che@ting on him.
He caught her in the act and later discovered that Kaluba was also involved. Mwanza’s 12-year-old daughter, who was a key witness in the case, revealed to her father that Kaluba would frequently visit their home at night.
The court case took a stunning turn when the daughter testified against Kaluba, referring to him as “Bashikulu” (grandpa).
Her testimony corroborated Mwanza’s claims, exposing Kaluba’s alleged involvement in the affair.
This disturbing incident highlights the devastating consequences of infidelity and deception, particularly when it involves someone in a position of trust like a landlord.
“Mum would tell me to leave the bedroom and sleep in the seating room each time bashikulu came and they would close the door in the bedroom. My mother would tell me that he will k!ll me If I tell dad,” the child testified.
Kaluba countered that the child’s testimony was coached by her father, insisting he had a girlfriend and wasn’t interested in Mwanza’s wife.
Mwanza responded that he harbors no resentment towards Kaluba, expressing relief at uncovering the truth.
During submissions, Mwanza argued that the revelation, though painful, was beneficial. Kaluba, however, demanded that Mwanza produce his former wife as a witness instead of relying on their child’s testimony.
After conducting a private interview with the child, the court reached a conclusion, bringing the matter to a close.
