Starting Friday, November 1, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education will launch online enrollment for Form One students looking to join boarding schools.
Managed through the Electronic Ministry Application Platform (EMAP), the enrollment will be open until December 31, 2024.
In a message from the Ministry’s Secretary, Moses Mhike, it was announced that each student can apply to up to five schools.
Once a student receives an acceptance from one school, they cannot apply to others unless they turn down the initial offer.

Parents and guardians wanting to enroll their children can do so on the EMAP website (www.emap.co.zw) during this period. It’s important to note that the number of boarding places is limited, so having backup plans is recommended in case a spot isn’t available.
After submitting an application, the application status may be one of the following:
Pending: The application is still being reviewed.
Accepted: The student has been offered a spot at the school.
Processed: The school has accepted the application, and all other applications will change to this status.
Rejected: The application was not successful.
Additionally, Mhike cautioned that if a student declines an offer, there’s no guarantee they will be offered the same place again, as selections are made randomly by the system.
