Zimbabwe’s permanent secretary for ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Ndabaningi Nick Mangwana has congratulated the winning team on their victory in Botswana’s recently held elections after President Masisi conceded defeat.
In the recent general election, which was the 13th since Botswana became independent in 1965, voters chose 61 Members of Parliament and 609 local council members.
The ruling party, the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), has lost after being in power for 58 years.
Opposition parties have won 39 out of 61 seats in Parliament.
President Mokgweetsi Masisi has accepted the election results after voters decided not to support the long-time ruling party in the polls held on October 30.
