A mother took her daughter’s husband while the daughter was pregnant, and now they are living together in the countryside.
This family conflict has led to a court case in Harare.
Ethel Mupoperi is accused of taking her daughter Munyaradzi’s husband.
Munyaradzi, who is Ethel’s only child, claims she will never forgive her mother for this.
According to H Metro, Munyaradzi said, “My mother took my husband when I was pregnant, and now they are starting a new life in the rural areas. After they left me, I began building on land that my husband bought, but now my mother says she owns it. Since she took my husband, we are now sharing him, and we both have rights to everything. She should feel as bad as I did when she took him from me.”

Ethel responded in court, saying she has also suffered because of her daughter. She accused Munyaradzi of verbally and emotionally @busing her. Ethel said her daughter disrespects her and makes her feel guilty for taking her husband.
“My daughter told me to leave my home, saying she is in charge of the house now. She insults me and blames me for taking her husband. Even though she is my only child, she does not treat me with respect. I own the property she claims is hers,” Ethel said.
Ethel asked the court to help stop her daughter’s disrespectful behavior. The magistrate, Meenal Naratom, agreed and ordered Munyaradzi to maintain peace when dealing with her mother.
