Two Chiredzi women identified as Svodai Vhoko, 34, and Sekai Tagara, 37, found themselves facing the law after attempting to bribe a Public Prosecutor in Chiredzi.
The duo entered the prosecutor’s office and offered a bribe of $10 in a desperate bid to secure the release of their associate Lloyd Zambuko, who was charged with unlawful entry into premises under aggravating circumstances.
Their attempt to manipulate the justice system did not go unnoticed.

Law enforcement acted swiftly, leading to the pair’s arrest shortly after the bribe was tendered.
The Chiredzi Magistrates’ Court took the matter seriously, sentencing Vhoko and Tagara to six months in prison.
However, in a move that allowed for some leniency, one month of their sentence was suspended for five years, while the remaining five months were replaced with 175 hours of community service.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe continues to emphasize the importance of combating crime and corruption in all its forms.
