“We all enjoyed Guinness at home; it was a family favorite, and I still love it. My parents introduced me to Guinness when I was a teenager, and my older brother Charlie also drank it, so it became our drink of choice during family meals,” she told Care UK.
Reflecting on her special day, Kathleen expressed gratitude, saying, “It was lovely to see my dear friends and neighbors. I’ve been spoiled—thank you so much.”
Kathleen was born in 1919 in Brixton, UK, and spent her career as an accountant in London. She enjoyed a rich cultural life, with fond memories of dancing at Covent Garden and attending operas and ballets.
Now, at 105, she continues to embrace her independence, savoring her favorite beer. Celebrating in a care home surrounded by friends and staff, Kathleen beamed as she raised her glass, crediting her longevity to “beer and staying single.” Her friends ensured she had plenty of Guinness and special pint glasses to celebrate the occasion.
