A 49-year-old s3x worker named Sarah Mutero has decided to stop working in the legs for money field.
After leaving her job, she was given a piece of land worth in her hometown.
Some kind people have also promised to help her build a house.
Speaking on the occassion, Stanley Ngara, also known as the King of C0nd0ms, who runs a program to help s3x workers retire in a respectful way said that s3x workers have played an important role in fighting against HIV and AIDS.
He mentioned that while many men seek s3x, th!gh vendors do not engage in unsafe s3x, even when offered more money.

Sarah worked as a s3x worker for 23 years, serving many men in her hometown of Embu, in Nairobi city center, and in the Majengo area.
In her younger years, she might see over 20 men in a day, but as she aged and faced tough times, she could only manage about four customers a day, totaling around 100 a month.
Over her career, she has served around 28,000 men.
She shared that it was difficult to please so many different men, and she earned very little money. Most of her earnings went to provide for her children, including their clothing and education.
In the s3x business, prices are different depending on the location. In villages and places like Majengo, a session costs Sh100, while in the city center it costs Sh200 or more. She and other s3x workers often have to share small houses and must close their business by 11 p.m.
Sarah noted that the business can be tough. She said that when a session is so cheap, a worker must meet many clients to make a decent living. Despite her age, some younger men still prefer her because she treats them well.
Sarah decided to retire to set an example for other older s3x workers. She mentioned that younger women are now taking over, and some former clients have recognized her from years ago, surprised that she is still working.
Now, Sarah wants to live a quiet life with her two sons. She believes her children know what she did for a living, and they have hoped she would stop. Sarah wishes for her children to avoid entering the same line of work. She is looking forward to a peaceful life and is not interested in having a husband.
