Mike Tyson has shed light on why he was seen biting his glove during his recent fight against Jake Paul, revealing that he has “a biting fixation.”
In the bout held at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, Tyson, 58, was caught on camera repeatedly sinking his teeth into his glove as he faced off against the 27-year-old Paul.
After eight two-minute rounds, Paul was declared the winner, taking all three scorecards with scores of 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73. The fight was streamed live on Netflix.

During the post-fight interview, Tyson was asked about his glove-biting habit. “Oh, I have a habit of biting my gloves, yeah,” the former heavyweight champion admitted. “I have a biting fixation.”
This comment seemed to allude humorously to Tyson’s infamous disqualification in 1997 when he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear.
When interviewer Ariel Helwani brought this up, he humorously responded, “I’ve heard about that. I don’t want to know more…”
This match marked Tyson’s first professional fight since 2005, when he was knocked out by Kevin McBride. He did participate in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul’s victory improved his professional boxing record to 11-1, continuing his streak of wins against various mixed martial arts stars and lesser-known boxers.
