DJ Ribhe, a producer from Chillspot Records whose real name is Tafadzwa Mandaza, has been remanded in custody as he faces allegations of r@ping a 14-year-old schoolgirl. His next court appearance is set for December 3.
DJ Ribhe appeared virtually in court where regional magistrate Tilder Mazhande ordered that he remain in detention while investigations are ongoing.
He has been in custody since early November and is expected to stay there for at least another month as the case proceeds as reported by H Metro.
DJ Ribhe has decided to change his legal counsel amid the unfolding legal proceedings.
He was initially represented by attorney Dumisani Mthombeni, known for defending other artists from Chillspot Records, such as DJ Fantan and DJ Levels. However, Ribhe’s family has informed Mthombeni of their decision to seek new legal representation.

The producer is accused of dr_ugging his victim before assaulting her.
The alleged incident took place on October 16, after the victim failed to return home from school. Concern arose when her father realized she had been missing for two days.
Reports indicate that the victim, accompanied by unidentified individuals, showed up at DJ Ribhe’s home the next day and later left for Mashwede Village around 10 PM.
The State claims that DJ Ribhe coerced the minor into consuming an unknown substance and smoking shisha.
The victim reportedly regained consciousness at DJ Ribhe’s residence the following morning, only to realize that she had been r@p3d. After her father organized a search party, which was initiated via a missing person report, she revealed the details of her ordeal upon being found.
As the investigation continues, DJ Ribhe has not yet submitted a bail application to the High Court.
