Inter Miami CF is poised to officially unveil Javier Mascherano as the club’s new head coach, with the Argentine set to sign a three-year contract. Mascherano will succeed Gerardo Martino, who parted ways with the Florida-based franchise earlier this week after falling short of the goal of securing the Major League Soccer (MLS) championship.
Prominent Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development, stating that all necessary documentation for Mascherano’s appointment is complete.
“Javier Mascherano will be officially announced as the new Inter Miami manager in the upcoming days. All documents are in place for a three-year deal. Mascherano is set to work with Messi again,” Romano reported.
Mascherano’s appointment marks a significant reunion with Lionel Messi, his former teammate at FC Barcelona and the Argentine national team. In addition, Mascherano will reunite with Inter Miami players Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suárez, all of whom were part of Barcelona during his tenure at the club.
This strategic move highlights Inter Miami’s commitment to fostering synergy among its star-studded roster as the team looks to build on its ambitions for success in MLS.
