The newly appointed Minister of State for National Security, Lovemore Matuke, who also serves as a Zanu-PF Politburo member and Secretary for Security, has issued a stern warning to party members against the misuse of social media to undermine the ruling party’s leadership.
Addressing a Zanu-PF Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Masvingo on Friday, Matuke underscored that the party would not tolerate any divisive behavior. He warned that action would be taken against members who use social media platforms to attack or discredit the party’s leadership.
“All party WhatsApp groups must be created with the approval of the Zanu-PF provincial chairperson,” Matuke stated.
He further added, “We will have no difficulty tracking individuals responsible for originating messages that attack the leadership and compromise party unity and cohesion.”
Matuke called on Zanu-PF members to uphold unity and loyalty, a message consistently emphasized by the party’s First Secretary, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
