On Sunday morning, a three-month pregnant mother and her eleven-year-old boy were discovered de@d in their Pietermaritzburg home.

The 34-year-old lady and her son were shot and k!lled in their Glenwood, Pietermaritzburg, home on Abarian Drive, according to KwaZulu-Natal police.
Unknown suspects are said to have broken into the family’s house. Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a KZN police spokesperson, stated that the deceased’s husband was discovered by police upon their arrival at the scene.
“He informed the police that he was alerted to g_nshots at his house and when he arrived he found the body of his wife lying in a pool of bl00d in the kitchen.
“He also found that his stepson was also shot and k!lled in his room.”
Police said the only survivor was their couple’s six-year-old biological son who was found in his room unh@rmed.
“The motive of the k!lling is unknown the search for the suspect is under way.”
Mountain Rise police are investigating two counts of m_rder.
Earlier on Monday, President Cyril Ramaphosa called on society to confront patriarchal power structures that perpetuate vi0lence and inequality.
Parliament echoed this call and emphasised the need for men to participate in the fight against GBV and challenge the h@rmful norms and behaviours.
