A Zimbabwean man living in Australia is currently on the run following allegations of rape involving his lover, whom he met in person for the first time.
Bright Ndinaani Nyanhete, 24, from Borrowdale Brooke, traveled to Zimbabwe to meet a 36-year-old woman after connecting with her through his sister, Tarisai Mudzangadza as reported by H Metro.
Their communication began in September via WhatsApp, leading to a romantic relationship. Prior to any sexual encounter, the woman requested they both undergo HIV testing.
However, Nyanhete allegedly rap3d her twice without protection during his visit.
After the incident, the woman reported the @ss@ult to the police, but Nyanhete evaded arrest and is now believed to be hiding somewhere in the country.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the investigation and called for assistance from the public in locating Nyanhete. “We are looking into a rap3 case involving two individuals in a romantic relationship,” said Inspector Chakanza.

He provided further context, explaining that after Nyanhete expressed a desire to find a Zimbabwean wife to his sister, she introduced him to the woman.
Following their conversations, Nyanhete traveled to Zimbabwe in November 2024, indicating he wanted to meet her in person and spend quality time together.
On November 11, during his visit to her residence, Nyanhete allegedly demanded s3x, which the woman refused due to concerns about his HIV status. Despite her refusal, he is accused of r@p!ng her twice before leaving.
On November 13, the woman confided in a friend about the @ss@ult and subsequently filed a police report against Nyanhete, triggering the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are actively seeking information that could lead to his apprehension.
