A controversial and distressing court case has ignited heated discussions online as a man has evicted his wife and children from their family home to make room for his new girlfriend.
According to H-Metro, Forward Mumango obtained a protection order from Magistrate Meenal Narotam, which prevents his wife, Primrose Mumango, and their children from returning to their shared home.
Mumango’s intention is to evict his family to allow his girlfriend to move in.
During the court proceedings, Mumango claimed that his family was resisting his decision to include his new girlfriend in their lives and characterized his wife as abusive and disrespectful.
The atmosphere in the courtroom shifted dramatically when the couple’s daughter, Tofara Mumango, broke down in tears after hearing the ruling.

Overcome with emotion, she confronted her father, accusing him of selfishness and cruelty, exclaiming, “How could he do this to my mum?”
She went on to assert that her father’s decision was influenced by his girlfriend, stating, “He is doing this because his girlfriend has manipulated him; he doesn’t care about us. He is punishing us for not accepting his new girlfriend,” prompting court officials to intervene and calm Tofara, who was visibly distraught.
In defense of his actions, Mumango claimed that his wife’s refusal to accept his girlfriend as part of their family left him no choice but to take such drastic steps. “She is so disrespectful and refuses to acknowledge my second wife as part of our family,” he asserted in Harare Civil Court. “It’s impossible for me to live in peace with my new wife when they are around. I want them out of my house because they won’t accept my authority as the head of the family.”
Primrose Mumango expressed her deep sense of betrayal, stating, “He’s no longer thinking clearly; he has been manipulated by his girlfriend. I am heartbroken by his decision to seek a protection order against me and to evict our children.”
The case has led to widespread condemnation on social media, with many users criticizing Mumango for neglecting his responsibilities as both a father and a husband.
Detractors argued that if he wishes to pursue a polygamous arrangement, he should secure separate housing for his girlfriend rather than displacing his wife and children.
