The couple’s story unfolds amid revelations about why men sometimes part ways with gorgeous women, just as lovers navigate past another National Breakup Day. What was meant to be a magical photo session in Cleveland, marking a new chapter in their relationship, turned into an unexpected rescue operation involving firefighters and a drain.
It all started when Rush pointed out a mark on Berebitsky’s trousers. As Mack moved in to brush it away, disaster struck—the sound of Mack’s ring slipping down a sewer drain echoed heartbreakingly.
Berebitsky shared with People.com that Mack remained composed while he fretted over the lost ring. “The first thing that goes through my head is, ‘Oh my god, we’ve been postponing the ring resizing for so long, and of course, this happens’.”
Cleveland Fire Station dispatched 30 firefighters to the scene to recover the lost jewel. Throughout the ordeal, the couple’s dedicated photographer continued capturing the moment, documenting the firefighters’ efforts to retrieve the precious item. “She did a phenomenal job staying calm, ensuring she got great photos of the firefighters, and then wonderful photos of us afterward,” Mack said.
The grateful couple plans to show their appreciation to the firefighters with a gift. “We’re hoping to send them something in the mail real soon, maybe even an invitation,” Mack added.
