Wolverhampton Wanderers are in advanced discussions with Al Shabab head coach, Vitor Pereira to replace Gary O’Neil who was sacked on Sunday following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Ipswich Town. According to latest reports from David Ornstein, Wolves ready to pay release clause in Al Shabab contract + personals no issue as 56-year-old coach keen on move.
“Wolves are closing in on the appointment of Vitor Pereira as new head coach, deal almost done. It’s all set to be signed,” he said.
Vitor Pereira was appointed as new head coach by Al Shabab earlier this in February after nearly a year since departing Brazilian team Flamengo in April 2023. He guided the team finishing eighth in the Saudi Pro League last season. They currently sit sixth after seven wins from 13 games.
The 56-year-old Portuguese won two Primeira Liga titles with Porto in 2012 and 2013 and the Greek Super League with Olympiakos in 2015.
