In an official announcement confirmed by the football news expect, Fabrizio Romano, “Ronaldo Nazario is now candidate to Brazilian Federation presidency,” he confirmed.
The two time word cup winner’s candidacy comes at a delicate time. Despite its historical successes, Brazilian football is currently experiencing institutional turmoil. The 48-year-old now seeks to restore the image of the Brazilian Football Federation, which has faced criticism in recent years for its chaotic management.
Ronaldo aims to implement profound reforms to revitalize the development of local clubs as well as the national teams. Ronaldo Nazario would not be the only former high-level football player to lead his country’s football federation. Recently, in Africa, Samuel Eto’o, former FC Barcelona player, became president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
