Jah Prayzah’s followers have raised ethical concerns regarding his endorsement of Chivayo, particularly given the businessman’s dubious reputation.
In a recent Facebook post, Jah Prayzah referred to Chivayo as a “blesser par excellence,” showering him with praise.
He stated, “Born with an open hand that uplifts the orphans, the widows, and less privileged,” portraying Chivayo as a benevolent figure. His message included a metaphor about gifts being like rains from God, suggesting a divine blessing in Chivayo’s philanthropy.
However, this rhetoric has been met with skepticism by fans who argue that Jah Prayzah’s luxurious lifestyle may have clouded his judgment. Many commenters have pointed out that his relationship with Chivayo raises troubling questions about the integrity of such endorsements, especially in a country grappling with corruption.
The singer’s own history with Chivayo includes receiving a $180,000 Mercedes Benz S500, the most expensive car ever gifted to a musician in Zimbabwe, as well as gifts of Toyota Aquas for his female dancers and an additional $20,000 following a recent performance in Harare.
As Jah Prayzah continues to support Chivayo, he has inadvertently alienated many of his loyal fans, who are frustrated by the rampant corruption affecting their everyday lives.
The artist’s comments, including questions about the nature of blessings and the honor given to influential figures, have done little to assuage the disappointment of followers who feel misled by his support of a controversial businessman.
Sir Wicknell has stated that Jah Prayzah will receive the $150,000 cash gift upon collecting his next car from Victor, a local car dealer, further intertwining the artist’s fate with that of Chivayo and raising eyebrows over the implications of such a relationship.
