Kwekwe Magistrates Court this week saw the conviction and jailing of John Tuhwe (51) and his wife, Gciniso Ndlovu (43), for concealing proceeds of a US$40,000 robbery committed by their son.
The pair were found guilty and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment each after a full trial. Prosecutors had proven beyond reasonable doubt that Tuhwe and Ndlovu, parents of Calvin Tuhwe who is still at large, received and stashed US$680 inside a wardrobe.

The court also uncovered that the duo had wrapped US$5,200 in a plastic bag containing meat and put it in a fridge compartment.
This was after Calvin and his gang broke into an unnamed complainant’s house and stole the cash on May 15, 2024.
Following the theft, the fugitive suspect shared the loot with his parents before fleeing to an unknown destination.
The court found both parents blameworthy for knowingly assisting in concealing the whereabouts of stolen funds.
