The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Mutoko have successfully apprehend four suspects in connection with vandalizing of ZETDC transformer and theft of armoured cables in Mutoko, Mashonaland East Province. The four suspects were indentified as Anderson Takawira alias Tatenda Vambe (30) , Isaac Vheremu (38), Trymore Bona (30) and Archford Chiyangwa (25).
According to ZRP’s report, the quartet was arr3sted at a roadblock along Harare Nyamapanda Road on 27th of January, 2025 after Police swiftly acted on a received tipoff. The arrest led to the recovery of the suspects’ getaway car, a Toyota Aqua , reg number AGF 9536, bolts, nuts, two scales , spanners, a knife and armoured cables.
“Police in Mutoko acted on received information and arr3sted Anderson Takawira alias Tatenda Vambe (30) , Isaac Vheremu (38), Trymore Bona (30) and Archford Chiyangwa (25) at a roadblock along Harare Nyamapanda Road on 27/01/25 in connection with vandalism of a ZETDC transformer and theft of armoured cables.
The arr3st led to the recovery of the suspects’ getaway car, a Toyota Aqua , reg number AGF 9536, bolts, nuts, two scales , spanners, a knife and armoured cables,” Police confirmed.
The suspects are being linked to two cases of vandalising ZETDC properties in two different business centres in Mutoko. On 27th of January, transformer oil was stolen at Mushimbo Business Centre and at the very day, ZETDC copper cables at Rukau Business Centre were stolen.
The arr3st of these four suspects comes just three days after a gang of four men and a woman was arr3sted in Mutoko in connection with vandalising of ZETDC properties.
