A 17-year-old Ugandan boy has been arrested for allegedly k!ll!ng his 64-year-old father during a family dispute over meat.
The altercation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement about food that escalated into v!olence.
Authorities shared that the deceased, John Nsenga, had purchased meat for visitors he was expecting, which was prepared by his wife, Brandinah Niringiyimana, on February 1.
However, an argument erupted the following day when Nsenga refused to eat a meal of beans, Irish potatoes, and matooke (bananas) that his wife had cooked, insisting instead on the meat that had already been consumed.
The conflict intensified when the couple’s son returned home after fetching water and found his parents arguing over the matter.
Witnesses say that upon seeing the fight, his father @tt@cked him with a panga, demanding to know the whereabouts of the meat.
During the confrontation, Nsenga allegedly struck his son Ntwari with the panga, injuring him on the ear. In response, Ntwari grabbed a stick and hit his father on the head before fleeing the scene.

After the altercation, Nsenga sought medical help for his injuries but tr@gically succumbed shortly after arriving at Mutolere Hospital.
Authorities stated that he had initially reported his son before collapsing.
The police spokesperson for the Kigezi region, Elly Maate, confirmed that Ntwari has been @rrested and will be charged once the investigation is complete.
Moirah Kampire, the Kisoro District probation officer, expressed concern over the rising rates of d0mestic v!olence and related cr!mes in the area, noting that many suspects in such cases are often under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
She emphasized the importance of community awareness about the dangers of substance abuse, which can escalate family disputes into severe incidents.
Kampire highlighted a recent case in which a father defiled his 13-year-old daughter while under the influence, reinforcing the need for ongoing public education about the consequences of dru_g and alc0h0l use.
