A shocking crime has shaken Regayivadero Village in Tanda, Mayo, under Chief Makoni. Rosemary Mapasvikwa, a 61-year-old woman, was found brutally murdered with a deep head wound. Her son, Tafirenyika Musuwa, 31, is the prime suspect and is currently on the run.
Mapasvikwa’s body was found lying face-down in a pool of blood near their home. A blood-stained axe, believed to be the murder weapon, was discovered nearby. Shoe prints matching Tafirenyika’s were also found at the scene.
Police are searching for Tafirenyika, who was seen at the homestead before the discovery. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and warning the public not to approach him, as he is considered dangerous.
The motive behind the brutal killing is still unknown, and police are conducting further investigations. Mapasvikwa’s body has been taken to Rusape General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
